In 1969, Janesville beauty queen Cynthia Morgan was crowned Miss Wisconsin. While many other Janesville residents have competed for the state title of Miss Wisconsin, Cynthia Morgan was the only one to take the crown.

Fashion designer Christine Adar now makes high-end evening wear, but she grew up on a horse farm in nearby Beloit. You’d never know it from her glamorous Old Hollywood designs, but her interest in fashion began while playing with fabric scraps from her grandmother’s seamstress projects.
There are fashion shows held throughout the year that give beauty professionals a chance to see current style trends paired with runway hair and makeup. Popular events include the Grinnell Hall Fashion Show, the Intermediate Women’s Club Semi-Annual Fashion Show and the Fashion Phenomena, which highlights African fashion.
Catch the latest special event beauty trends by attending local bridal shows such as the Spring Evening Bridal Show at the Pontiac Convention Center. Local vendors include makeup artists and hairstylists, so Tricoci University students can even use the opportunity to connect with potential clients.
